info
This succulent is from the deserts of South Africa and as such like to go totally bone dry between waterings, making them very low-maintenance. If you see your succulent begin to shrivel or lose firmness, your plant is likely totally dry and should be watered.

This plant comes from an area with winter rainfall and is actively growing during that time, when it is forgiving of overwatering errors. During summer dormancy it should be kept extra dry and won’t tolerate overwatering. Water only when the leaves begin to visibly shrivel during summer.

Remember that if kept in a small pot your plant will want more frequent watering.

Growing Notes

Shelter from hot inland sun during the summer months.
Thrives in even very small pots, and cracks of rockeries.
Does best with little to no fertilizer.
If you anticipate temperatures in the mid twenties it is best to grow this plant with additional drainage. Mix cactus mix 50:50 with pumice or lava rock.
