info
This succulent is from the Karoo Deserts and as such like to go totally bone dry between waterings, making them very low-maintenance. If you see your succulent begin to shrivel or lose firmness, your plant is likely totally dry and should be watered.

This succulent comes from an area with winter rainfall and is actively growing during that time, when it is forgiving of overwatering errors, given sun and good drainage. During summer dormancy it should be kept extra dry and won’t tolerate overwatering. It’s best not water during this time unless the leaves are beginning to shrivel.

Remember that if kept in a small pot your plant will want more frequent watering.

Growing Notes

Slowly clumps into a dense rocklike mound. This form is no accident and helps to camouflage the plant from predation in nature.
Best not to plant this small succulent in the ground unless it’s a rockery with great drainage that has no weeds.
